We have this tradition…..on the day before fall classes, our faculty, staff and students line both sides of the brick path way (Johnston Mall) in front of College Hall. And then just before 10 am they appear….first we see the banner of the College of Arts and Sciences (our oldest college) and then all of our new students, processing behind the banners and Deans of their respective College/Schools. At first the students are a little surprised to be greeted with such a welcome, but then they warm to it.
We want each of you to experience a glimpse into what we see on this special day (the video below captures just a brief part of the ‘welcome walk’). With rays of sunlight glinting through the trees, Gonzaga University’s Class of 2026 processed across campus toward St. Aloysius Church for the academic convocation. As you’ll see in this video, God’s love truly shone down on this new generation of Zags.
With applause and cheers from faculty, staff and fellow students, these 1,230+ new first-year Zags just christened their lifelong journeys……..enjoy - Gonzaga University Class of 2026 Welcome Walk Video
Now that we have welcomed our students back we are hopeful to see as many of you as possible this fall. For your planning purposes, please note all the great activities planned for Zagapalooza weekend (October 14-16, 2022). If you are interested in attending, please let me know and I will make sure we coordinate your registration and weekend experience.
