Inspired by today’s advent calendar window, we are full of gratitude as we share about a GU parent family who is providing a gift of $225,000 to assist in providing several creative gift challenges that we will be promoting through the balance of 2019, with many more opportunities to come in 2020. This family came to know GU through their student’s journey and have become enamored with the experience and journey of their Zag. This act of generosity has served as a reminder – for all of us in University Advancement - of the many colleagues, throughout campus, who work so hard to make sure our students are supported, challenged – stretched, to become their best selves.
Here are a few ways we are working to stretch this family’s challenge gift, most specifically, these efforts are framed to help our “younger constituents” join our GU donor family:
- 4Zags: “A little goes a long way... But you know that. When you're on a budget, it can be challenging to carve out what feels like a helpful amount for others. Gonzaga understands, and so does the generous Zag family, who is going to help you make the difference you really want to. It's called 4 Zags, and all you have to do is set up a monthly donation of $4 or more then this Zag family will add a one-time $100 lump sum to your donation. That's it!”
- Scholarship donors rock our ‘Supportive Socks’ off: “Recurring giving quite simply means setting up an automatic monthly, quarterly, or annual payment. The benefit is in providing donors with convenient ways to give on a recurring (automatic) basis, builds donor retention from year to year (a big part of our work) and bottom line - directly supports our students’ experience. This year, University Advancement is celebrating that dedication to giving with a special incentive to encourage continued participation in annual giving: limited-edition Gonzaga University dress socks - come on, who doesn’t WANT and NEED more ZAGSWAG and to show their ZAG pride!!!” This same donor family is backing these efforts and providing additional matching funds for this campaign to encourage our community to join in.
- Here’s how it works: Before the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, individuals can set up a recurring gift, and they’ll receive these beauties as a special “thank you” to demonstrate our gratitude for scholarship support!
Both of these campaigns are designed to meet constituents where they are in their stage of life – hopefully providing a quick and easy way in which they can play a part as a donor – in helping our students. We are grateful to this GU parent family for providing the creative license and seeding to build and promote these campaigns.
One more ZaGratitude coming your way before Christmas! Then I promise to leave you alone until NEW YEAR! 😉
