With hundreds of Zags making their way back home to campus for the Zagapalooza all-class reunion this weekend, there’s a feeling of warmth all around (and it isn’t just the unseasonable weather we’re having in Spokane!). Gonzaga alumni and friends are bright lights in this world, and to have so many congregating in one place is a blessing for which I am truly grateful.
My Advancement colleagues are presenting to each alum returning for the weekend a candle and card inviting them to visit the Grotto devoted to Our Lady between St. Al’s and College Hall to light a candle in honor or memory of someone important to them, or simply to provide a quiet, prayerful moment. I want to invite you to pass along your thoughts and prayers in this way, too—it would be my honor to light a candle at the grotto for you if you’d like.
Again, thank you for the blessing you are to this community. Gonzaga students and alumni are equipped to set the world on fire because of the light you spark within them and the faith you show in their potential to have an impact.
