They soar...

As I write this, thousands of students are making their way back to campus – many of them with their families, guardians - those in their immediate support network (most especially for the 1,240 incoming freshmen who will move into their residence halls, in just a few hours).

For those family members and guardians, it is also a pretty intense emotional time as they prepare to help their student leave everyone and everything they have ever known. Giving them peace of mind is this community, this powerful Zag network we have built that will surround these students today – and for the rest of their years.  We are prepared to help our newest Zags soar.

Some good news that came our way this week that reinforces this: “Gonzaga Soars in Princeton Review "Best Colleges 2024" Rankings, check out this 45 second clip:  https://youtube.com/shorts/8-FLkLxCFQg?feature=share

Parents will love to see the #25 ranking, politicians will love the #23 ranking….I think you will get a kick of out each stat.  But here is what is so impressive - GU has enjoyed a regular presence in Princeton Review Best Colleges rankings for years, and the new Best Colleges 2024 edition once again lands GU among the 389 schools included — roughly 15 percent of all four-year colleges in America.  Princeton Review’s list is noteworthy because the schools that make the list of Best Colleges, as well as a number of other Princeton Review rankings in categories dedicated to academics and student life, are determined by students themselves. Roughly 165,000 college students across the country were surveyed for the 2024 rankings, and Gonzaga’s student body made sure their voices were heard.

We love some good rankings (check out those “after graduation numbers,” however we are not resting here.  There is much more to share in the year ahead as GU pushes forward with many exciting initiatives and announcements.  Here is just one that we want to make sure is on your radar…Inland Northwest Consortium, Led by Gonzaga University, Files Tech Hub Application to Create The American Aerospace Materials Manufacturing Center

This consortium effort is just one example that shows our commitment to advance academic excellence, JESUIT experiential learning, and our regional economy.  Your support is enabling us to lead – always – with our values-based Jesuit education…..fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, embracing emerging technologies, promoting a global mindset, and strengthening the value of Gonzaga’s network of alumni and friends so that students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and support necessary to thrive in a complex and interconnected world.

They will soar... But first, we have to go get them moved in!
