Today is Fr. Bernard Coughlin’s 97th birthday. As many of you know, Father Coughlin was Gonzaga’s longest serving president, and then stayed on for another 20 years as Chancellor!
Earlier this week, several of our emeriti trustee gathered in Seattle and took time to send him a video recording of them singing happy birthday. His response to receiving this video: “Your wishes filled my heart. I send my love and prayers. Remember God loves you, and please keep me in your prayers.”
He is in our prayers today and always. Grateful for his leadership, service and inspiration that he has gifted to each and every Zag. We are grateful to each of you for the way you carry his work and legacy forward.
