The young marine pictured above represents the potential, spirit, and force in the heart of everyone who serves in the United States military—I am so grateful to be the beneficiary of the wealth of experience, wisdom, and leadership she and every veteran I am blessed to know bring to all parts of their lives.

Today, I am excited for the upcoming 75th anniversary celebration honoring Gonzaga’s ROTC Bulldog Battalion and the launch of Gonzaga’s Military Service Community happening at the same time.

ROTC members, alumni serving in the military (active and retired), family and friends are invited to a series of events on and around campus April 27–29.

And if you’d like to learn more about how the young marine in the photograph became an invaluable member of the Gonzaga community, here is her story.  Be sure to check out her observations on the indelible impact the Gonzaga ROTC experience has had on countless alumni because of the way our cadre and community bridge Army officer training with the Jesuit, Catholic and humanistic education that is at the heart of GU’s mission.

We would love to learn more about the military experiences of Zag Nation!
