In my most recent message, I mentioned that there is a lot happening on Friday……I can’t let the week and the big day pass without sharing how the Zag Network is thriving, most especially on this St. Patrick’s Day.
Today and Friday, alumni in London are hosting GU students for visits to Deloitte, Splunk, Accenture, U.S. Department of State, Salesforce & Boeing, including an alumni reception on the evening of Thursday, March 16th.
On Friday, a full day of career development and networking is taking place in San Francisco. The program includes corporate excursions led by Gonzaga Alumni at eight organizations, followed by an alumni networking social at the downtown Olympic Club with area alumni, parents, and friends. Faculty members are participating in both Treks as mentors to the students and to learn what skills employers are looking for so they can incorporate this into their curriculum, and to see how alumni of their departments are applying their education.
As you might expect, Zags will be taking over Denver and Palo Alto for the NCAA Tournament's First Round as Gonzaga alumni, parents, and fans from across the planet cheer on our amazing student-athletes. Please access Zag Alumni & Friends pre-game events information and additional resources to keep you connected with the Zag Network through March and beyond!
And most importantly, pictured here, our team will be sending a little cheer to Spokane resident Barb Maes, the mother-in-law of Zag grad Julianne Dickelman (’93 M.A.). Barb was born on April 6 in Blaine, Wash., and has been a Spokane resident since 1969. A devout Catholic, she is a member of the Sacred Heart Parish. She is mom to 5 children, grandma to 7, and great-grandma to 6. She LOVES the Zags and March Madness and never misses a game – or the opportunity to pray for her Bulldogs! She will celebrate her 100th birthday on April 6, so if you have a message of cheer, you would like us to send to Barb on her birthday, just send it my way and we will get it to her!
GO ZAGS!
