International House

International House is a welcoming and supportive community dedicated to fostering the growth, leadership, and success of international students. This inclusive residential space provides a safe and engaging environment where students from diverse cultural backgrounds can explore and celebrate their unique identities while building meaningful connections with others from all over the world. 

Residents of International House are encouraged to embrace their cultural heritage and engage in cross-cultural dialogue. The community values learning from each other’s histories, languages, traditions, and customs, promoting an atmosphere of mutual respect and global awareness. 

Additionally, International House supports students in adjusting to life in a new country by providing resources and guidance on topics such as navigating cultural differences, language skills, academic expectations, and personal well-being. The community highlights the importance of global citizenship, international collaboration, and cultural exchange, encouraging residents to become informed and engaged leaders who contribute to a more connected, inclusive world. 

Through fostering cultural exploration, leadership development, and mutual support, International House empowers students to thrive in their academic, personal, and professional lives while building lasting friendships across borders. 

Open to all incoming students, this community provides a space within our residence halls that promotes personal wellness, social connectedness, and academic success centering the International Student experience.

1st Year International House LLC residents can only be roommates with residents in the following LLCs:

  • First in the Family House LLC

  • Are 1st Years wanting to engage with what it means to identify as international and/or are coming to GU from beyond the fifty states
  • Are 1st Years are interested in sharing & celebrating global cultures and traditions in a residential community.
  • Want to live in community with other Zags exploring living in the United States and the transitional needs from now establishing themselves at Gonzaga’s campus from a previous location.
  • Are 1st Years that want to connect with staff and students who are engaging around support for International Students.
