This evening for many in the Western tradition marks the start of the Easter Triduum – beginning with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper and extending through evening of Easter Sunday. These past six weeks of Lent have provided a time to reflect upon our lives, to grow closer to God through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving – and to prepare for the commemoration of the Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Easter serves as a reminder that each day is an invitation into deeper relationship with God, and each moment a gift from God – inspiring in us both deep gratitude and a desire to manifest our experience of the Holy Spirit, alive and at work through us and our relationships.
Wherever you may be as we conclude this Holy Week, know that my prayers for a blessed and joyful Easter are with you. To our Jewish sisters and brothers, for whom Passover began yesterday evening, I wish you Chag Sameach! To those who are traveling, please travel safely. I remain ever grateful to all of you for the gifts that you bestow on our Gonzaga community. Thank you for your continued belief in and support of our mission, every day.
May the Lord’s blessings be with us all, now and in the days to come.
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live."
