Dr. Abdulla Mamun's research primarily focuses on biostatistics and its applications, particularly in the realm of statistical modeling. He is also interested in areas such as public health, clinical trials, and epidemiology. Currently, he is working with a national dataset produced by the Institute on Health and Disability Policy Studies at the University of Kansas, based on the annual National Survey on Health and Disability.
The main objective of this study is to identify disparities faced by Americans with disabilities in relation to transportation, housing, employment, and unmet healthcare needs, and to investigate the key factors that contribute to these disparities. Dr. Mamun and his team seek a better understanding of the lives and needs of Americans living with disabilities, an outcome that aligns well with Gonzaga’s mission.
Students have presented their work at the Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference (SIRC) and Pacific Inland Mathematics Undergraduate Conference (PiMUC) multiple times.
