Eligibility

Gonzaga University students (undergraduate or graduate), faculty, and staff are eligible to apply for PoH funding. Students are required to have a faculty member from their respective department sponsor their submission. 

 

Maximum Funding Allocation

$2,000

 

Deadline to Spend Funds

May 31, 2025

 

Maximum Awards per Academic Year

Currently, our office can fund six proposals at $2,000 each. More awards may be given depending on the requested funding from proposals and if excess funds are available.

 

Required Documents for Submission

  1. Completed submission form
  2. Institutional Review Board (IRB) Approval (if needed)
  3. Itemized list of funding needs
  4. Supplemental documents as needed to outline your initiative and/or project 

 

Preference Given to Projects That

  1. Clearly articulate their alignment with the PoH mission
  2. Outcomes that benefit our communities (i.e., Gonzaga U, the Spokane community)
  3. Include Gonzaga University students as collaborators or research assistants on the project
  4. Have plans to disseminate the work/project (i.e., out-ward facing results such as presentation, workshop, or publication)

 

Post-Award Requirements

If granted funding, our office requires that applicants engage in one of the following:

  1. Offer a presentation (e.g., Lunch and Learn) of your research and/or project to students, faculty, and staff
  2. Create a free, downloadable resource for community members based on your work
  3. Provide a free training and/or workshop for community members (GU and/or local) that enhances attendees skills and abilities to serve diverse audiences


This list is not exhaustive and applicants are encouraged to develop alternative ideas that best highlight their work and align with the mission of our office. A member of our team will follow-up with awardees to determine which requirement is most suitable to their respective project. This requirement must be met by the end of the 2025 – 2026 academic year.
