Get a peek behind the scenes and a taste of the world of “show business.” We’re seeking performing-arts enthusiasts who enjoy serving the public to help us put shows on stage and welcome guests.
Volunteering at the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center requires:
- A commitment to help at a minimum of 10 events per annual performance season, across a range of Gonzaga University, Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Presents performances, and other events and productions
- The availability during evenings or weekends (flexible schedule)
- That you are 16 years of age or older
- That you be able to handle light physical effort including, but not limited to; standing for extended periods of time, lifting up to 30 pounds, and climbing steps repeatedly
- That you are able to work in a fastāpaced, busy environment with environmental conditions such as noise, heights and in dark/dim/absence of lighting situations
- That ushers or members of the front-of-house personnel to be comfortable interacting with the public, including possible emergencies or difficult situations
- That you agree to attend one orientation session before working as a volunteer (approximately 90 minutes, including a building tour)
- That you have access to email for scheduling and information from the Myrtle Woldson Center
Volunteers will often have the opportunity to see performances when helping at a show, but the chance to see an entire performance or any specific part of it is not guaranteed.
Gonzaga University requires volunteers to pass a basic background check prior to volunteering on campus.
