Dance as Service

Dance for Parkinson’s

Two people participate in dance class,
Dance for Parkinson's classes are held in our beautiful studio and made available to the community every Saturday during the academic year.. Gonzaga Dance Students volunteer to assist with classes and Dance Majors and Minors have the opportunity to observe dance instruction for this specific population. Our partnership with Northwest Parkinson's Foundation is another important community connection.

ZagDance is a free after school dance program taught by the students in DANC 496 - Strategies for Dance Instruction. Gonzaga Dance Students learn how to teach creative movement in this annual Fall Semester service-learning course. Our partnership with local elementary schools and GU's Campus Kids creates a dynamic connection to our community and real-world/life experience for the Gonzaga Dance Students.

Dance as Cura Personalis

Every February, we celebrate Valentines with a week of caring for the whole person through dance. Formerly Love Your Body Week, the Dance Club presents panels, workshops, the Annual Screen Dance Film Festival, and performances, joining as a community to celebrate our bodies and raise funds for our Dance for Parkinson’s program.

While Dance as Cura Personalis is student led, email dance@gonzaga.edu if you are interested in volunteering, attending, or getting involved!
