Future plans:
I would like to go into environmental education so, after graduation, I will be moving to New York City to teach middle school science and begin earning a master's of education.
How has your major contributed to your professional or personal development?
Being a dance major has given me the opportunity to develop my teaching skills through instruction and choreography classes, leading me to teach ballet at a studio in Spokane. Additionally, environmental studies pointed me towards the West Valley Outdoor Learning Center and a Climate Literacy Fellow position at the Gonzaga Center for Climate, Society, and the Environment, two experiences that helped me realize my love for teaching.
What has been your proudest or most significant accomplishment during your Gonzaga career?
My most significant accomplishment during my Gonzaga career was presenting a dance work at the American College dance Association's Northwest Conference. My friend Mara Neary and I co-choreographed a piece that explored mental health and the role that community has in helping or hurting the recovery of someone that has a mental illness. The piece was presented and adjudicated during one of the conference's formal concerts in March of 2023.
