I am planning to get a PhD in sociology and continue doing research on prison reform with currently and formerly incarcerated populations.
How has your major contributed to your professional or personal development?
I have been supported so well by all of my crim and sociology professors mentally and academically which has allowed me to research and deeply engage with my topics of interest.
What has been your proudest or most significant accomplishment during your Gonzaga career?
I was a part of the Morris Fellowship program and interviewed formerly incarcerated mothers for my project. I have since presented my research and two different academic conferences and am working on a research paper called Familial Needs in an Era of Mass Incarceration.
