More about Abigail
Future plans:
I plan on attending law school in the fall to pursue environmental law. I am interested in practicing for an environmental law not-for-profit organization such as Earthjustice, Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW), or Clean Water Fund. I would prefer to work in California or Alaska, specializing in water law. I am interested in working on water law internationally to target wherever I might best serve vulnerable communities who disproportionately experience the impacts of climate change.
How has your major contributed to your professional or personal development?
My major in Environmental Studies has provided me with the knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to address complex environmental issues from multiple perspectives, including social, economic, and environmental. This has allowed me to become a more informed and responsible member of society, and to pursue careers that align with my environmental ethic.
What has been your proudest or most significant accomplishment during your Gonzaga career?
I am most proud of receiving a GreenFund grant to install solar-powered workstations on Gonzaga’s campus. It's an accomplishment that will have a lasting impact, providing students with direct interaction with renewable energy. I hope the project catalyzes more individual student-led sustainability initiatives on Gonzaga’s campus
