This event recognizes the work accomplished since 1998, when the Institute was first founded as a response to hateful acts against students at the Gonzaga School of Law. Our work remains as relevant as ever in today's context. Be a part of building the future with our students as we move towards a more just and equitable society.

Professor Nadine Strossen, former president of the American Civil Liberties Union and author of HATE: Why We Should Resist It with Free Speech, Not Censorship will offer a presentation which will be streamed from Washington D.C. We’ll celebrate local leaders standing up to confront hate, and we’ll take a look at the road ahead. The program intends to elevate the important role of our community in telling our stories, both our challenges and victories, in the struggle to stand against hate and for human rights. Our goal for the evening includes recognizing tensions and ethical dilemmas between free speech and concern for the well-being of others. |
The evening will close with a performance by the Gonzaga Choir, Timothy Westerhaus, director
*An experiential reception will be created by GUEST interns.
