Parents

Sending a child off to college is a stressful experience. It's especially stressful for parents of students who have special educational needs. In the K-12 system, parents often find themselves struggling to get their child's needs met.

When it is time for college, most students don't give much thought to how they will obtain accommodations at University. Parents, on the other hand, are concerned about what accommodations the University will offer and how many hoops they will have to jump through to get them in place.

We aim to help you understand the differences between high school and college accommodation plans. Our resources will also help you to understand and prepare for the adjustment and self-advocacy challenges your student may face during the transition to accessing accommodations at the postsecondary level.
