Over the past six weeks, many within our community have observed the Season of Lent, devoting time to prayer and acts of penitence. This evening begins the Paschal Triduum, the three days commemorating the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This coming Sunday, Western Christians around the world will celebrate Easter, the day when Jesus rose from the dead, symbolizing victory over sin and death, and granting faithful followers of the Risen Christ the promise of eternal life.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the season of Easter coincides with the season of Spring, a time of year that bears witness to represents new life and rebirth. Eastertime is a time of joy and rejoicing, itself a reminder of God’s never-ending love for us. May we in turn be grateful for the many blessings that represent God’s presence in our lives.
To all who are traveling this weekend, please travel safely. And to everyone, a very Happy Easter!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
