About the Resolution Center

Sunrise over the Gonzaga Campus

The Resolution Center for Student Conduct and Conflict is responsible for reconciling issues of student misconduct.
Our processes provide transformative opportunities as we guide students to engage in ethical discernment, develop enhanced decision-making skills, and learn to accept ownership for actions.

We aspire to create an environment in which community members:

  • appreciate the importance of intrinsic ownership, accountability for actions, and a willingness to make things right
  • exemplify honesty and integrity as community values
  • understand that needs of individuals are balanced with the needs of the community and the common good
  • listen to different perspectives and repair relationships to co-exist civilly and safely
  • demonstrate a positive, non-adversarial orientation towards other community members
  • learn from setbacks but not let them become obstacles that define identity or limit future success

Our core values guide our actions and processes:

  • Growth - The Resolution Center fosters student growth through learning and development on the individual, interpersonal, and community levels.
  • Accountability - The Resolution Center commits to high standards of fair and ethical treatment of students in our processes while holding students to a congruent value-set articulated in Gonzaga’s Student Code of Conduct.
  • Common Good - The Resolution Center balances the needs of each student with the needs of the community in order to ensure a safe and healthy living and learning environment.
  • Humanistic Principles - The Resolution Center recognizes the complexity of human nature and believes all persons are inherently worthy of dignity, rights, and respect.

Our office is generally open to students and staff from 8am - 4pm, Monday through Friday.
