Dr. Brumley is a Lecturer with the Department of Nursing, her areas of interest include perinatal nursing, perinatal substance use, and nursing education. Her clinical background includes pediatric and neonatal nursing. Dr. Brumley began her nursing career as a commissioned officer in the US Navy Nurse Corps, where she cared for service members and their families at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, and provided humanitarian relief on the USNS Hospital Ship Mercy. After being released from active duty she completed her Master’s degree in Nursing Education from Walden University and taught undergraduate nursing at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and Washington State University. She earned her PhD in Nursing from Washington State University in 2024 with a research focus in perinatal substance use.
