Dr. Olivares was an
IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship) Fellow while working on his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Washington State University as part of the
HELP Lab (Human-centered Envionments for Learning and Programming Lab). His research focuses are Computer Science education and Human-Computer Interaction. His dissertation work centered on the development and evaluation of personalized interventions delivered directly to computer science students through a programming environment in order to positively affect both learning behaviors and intention to persist in the computing discipline.
