Dr. Curtis Garner is a licensed clinical professional counselor and licensed psychologist.  Dr. Garner graduated from Baylor University in 1997 with a doctorate in Educational Psychology.  Since becoming licensed as a counselor in 1992, he has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health care settings. Dr. Garner taught as a tenured faculty member in Counseling and Human Development at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas from 1997 to 2007 and at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho from 2007 to 2019.  In 2019, Dr. Garner left his position as professor and department chair at Northwest Nazarene University to become professor and department chair of Gonzaga University department of Counselor Education. In addition to being a lifelong advocate for mental health in communities and schools, Dr. Garner enjoys hiking, fishing, and outdoor activities with his family in the beautiful Northwest wilderness areas of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
