The Future of Cognitive Assessment: Theoretical Considerations, Academic Applications, and Contributions to Education Equity
Leading researcher, scholar, test developer, and author Dr. Kevin McGrew will receive the Alan S. Kaufman Excellence in Assessment Award for his pioneering scholarship. Dr. McGrew will also lead our event with his keynote speech on two promising alternative (and potentially paradigm-shifting) uses of cognitive test data.
Following Dr. McGrew, scholars Dr. LaTasha Holden with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Dr. Peng Peng with the University of Texas at Austin will lead two additional presentations. Dr. Holden will present on how cognitive assessment can promote equity in assessment and education. Dr. Peng Peng will present on novel research examining the role of executive functioning in students’ reading development.
