Dr. Steve Schennum is one of several retiring professors granted emeritus status by Gonzaga University. He was honored at a faculty awards ceremony in early May.

Over 38 years, Steven Schennum contributed extensively to the electrical and computer engineering curricula. His courses included circuits, electronics, digital logic, signals and systems, electromagnetic fields, antennas, and communications engineering.

He is licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).

With a grant of almost $1.2 million from the National Science Foundation, he founded the Smart Antenna & Radio Lab (SARL). The lab has enabled over 100 undergraduates and several industrial clients to conduct advanced research into wireless communications, assess antenna performance, and conduct electromagnetic compatibility measurements.

Now that he has more free time, Spokane area music lovers can look forward to music performances from Schennum at venues such as the annual Fall Folk Fest, Zola, Big Barn Brewing, and Pig Out in the Park.
