Students had morning meetings with assigned professors to go over their second written assignment leading up to their final report.

After morning meetings students made their way over to the weekly market. Some of the students went to the market on their first day here and got the most delicious muffins. They had been thinking about them since and were very excited to finally get them again today.

City Hall looms over the Markt, the main town square, which hosts a marketplace every Thursday.

Everyone met back at the hotel for an afternoon lecture presented by Dr. Sue Niezgoda. Students learned about present-day issues with the Southwest Delta and different natural solutions to accommodate those issues. Students also learned that rivers need room to flood which can lead to improved water supply, stronger ecosystems, and mitigation of flood related risks.

Fun fact: Nieuwe Kerk is the second highest church tower in the Netherlands.

Students then headed to the Nieuwe Kerk, New Church, clocktower. They all climbed 376 stairs and got to see out three different lookout points. The view was beautiful, but it was not ideal for their friends who are claustrophobic or afraid of heights.

Students rounded out the day with some Delft souvenir shopping as well as grocery shopping for dinner. The sophomores cooked together and then went out for their daily ice cream fix.

Due to the day up in the church tower the night ended with a showing of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
