Bing Crosby House Museum to Host Free Screenings of Disney’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” Oct. 27
Bing Crosby fans might lose their heads at the Halloween season opportunity to join fellow fans of the classic crooner for a free screening of a Disney classic this weekend.
The Bing Crosby House Museum at Gonzaga University is hosting free showings of Disney’s 1949 animated version of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which features Crosby narrating the tale of schoolteacher Ichabod Crane and his memorable encounter with the frightening Headless Horseman. Crosby, naturally, does some singing as well in the 34-minute film that has some genuine scares to go along with the stunning visuals. Children are invited to attend accompanied by an adult. Costumes are encouraged, and yes, there will be candy.
The screenings of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” are Sunday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., and each is limited to just 35 attendees, so RSVP is required. Anyone interested in attending should email uasc@gonzaga.edu as soon as possible to assure a spot.
The museum is also hosting a 7 p.m. screening Sunday for the Gonzaga community. RSVP is required for Gonzaga faculty, staff and students as well.
The Bing Crosby House Museum is located at 508 E. Sharp in Spokane.
