Summer Camp Success

I always appreciated how I could immediately apply what I learned in my classes to my job in the 'real world', and I'm even more amazed that I can now include 'global pandemic' under that as well.

As the Director of Sales and Marketing for an overnight summer camp in Timpson, TX, Jessie acts as storyteller, connecting current and prospective campers to the rich history of Camp Huwani. When the COVID-19 pandemic presented significant implications for their summer operations, Jessie stepped in to lead the organization’s Communication Campaign, as well as the Media Team.

Her role in informing families of Camp Huwani’s health and safety preparedness plan was critical in making programming a possibility in the midst of the pandemic. Miraculously, over twelve weeks and five camp sessions, Camp Huwani was able to continue their longstanding traditions with zero cases of COVID-19!
