Shane Pacini Industry Liaison

To ensure the program continues to meet the real world needs of Power Engineers, Shane Pacini from Avista Utilities will be joining the program as the T&D Industry Liaison Engineer.

Shane has over 17 years of Electric Power Utility experience at Avista Utilities. Shane’s current role is as a Senior Distribution Operations Engineer at Avista. His career has largely been focused on Distribution Engineering Design and Electric Operations Engineering, and has included lead Engineering roles in Smart Grid, Grid Modernization, and most recently in Grid Hardening and Wildfire Resiliency. Shane has also been an Adjunct Engineering Instructor in Gonzaga’s T&D Program since 2012, and teaching undergraduate Engineering courses at Gonzaga University since 2014.

Shane will be tasked with reviewing the current curriculum, identifying future courses, and working with industry experts to advise the program moving forward.

SEAS will have Shane’s guidance through the 2021-2022 Academic school year. The Transmission & Distribution program is grateful to Avista for this generous support in funding Shane’s work and leadership in the program.
