SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga University today announced that May 2020 Commencement ceremonies have been postponed until Sept. 4-6. The University will host three ceremonies, an Undergraduate Commencement, Graduate Commencement and Law Commencement over the Labor Day weekend.

The decision was based on the results of a survey of graduating students conducted over the past weeks, and is conditioned upon the ability to assure health and safety for all participants. Ceremonies will be live-streamed for graduates, families and other participants who cannot attend in person.

Deena J. González, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president, said the decision follows consultations with University leaders representing faculty, deans and the Gonzaga Student Body Association.
