Law Student Connor Sabin Receives WACC Diversity Award
Gonzaga Law congratulates rising third-year student Conner Sabin for winning the Washington State Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (WACC) 2018 Diversity Scholarship. WACC cited Sabin’s deep commitment to diversity in making its decision.
Currently, Sabin works for the Legal Department of the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. As an intern, Sabin assists Gonzaga Law alumni Senior Tribal Attorney David Bonga, (J.D., ’82) and staff attorney Michele Fukawa, (J.D., ’13) as they provide legal support to tribal government and enterprises and protect tribal sovereignty and self-determination.
As a law student, Sabin serves as President of the Native American Law Students Association (NALSA), Vice President of the Moot Court Honors Council, and the Chairman-Elect of the Spokane County Bar Association Indian Law Section. With NALSA and SCBA’s Indian Law Section, Sabin has worked towards building relationships between the tribes and the law school.
