Home to activities, gatherings, labs, ministry and more, the Hemmingson Center is the new heart of Gonzaga.

Four floors. 167,726 square feet. An 800-person multi-purpose room. 10 different dining areas, serving everything from pizza and burgers to locally grown, vegan fare. A $60 million project funded through private philanthropy. These are all impressive figures. Even more impressive: a visionary space inaugurating the future of Gonzaga, uniting students and professors, campus and community. 

The Hemmingson Center is exactly that: a place for all the activities of a thriving, 21st-century Jesuit university. Think of it as your new living room, complete with an indoor hearth, an outdoor fire pit and your own Starbucks. Students can take advantage of movable workstations, private study rooms and cutting-edge technology labs. Videoconferencing and group meeting facilities allow classmates and faculty to collaborate in the same room and across the globe.

Student clubs and organizations—as well as the offices of University Ministry, Gonzaga Outdoors and the Center for Global Engagement—are headquartered in the Hemmingson Center. Placing these organizations near each other connects all corners of our diverse and lively student community.

For both the campus and the Spokane community, the building’s lounges, multipurpose spaces and dining opportunities answer social, entertainment and business needs. A pub and grill makes a great spot to cheer on the Bulldogs or relax over a pint.

With its eco-conscious design, the Hemmingson Center qualified for LEED Gold Certification. The attention to sustainability is only fitting, given that this unparalleled new building will sustain Gonzaga University for years to come.
