SPOKANE, Wash. — Trek Season is just around the corner with the Portland Trek on January 8, 2019 and the Seattle Trek on January 10, 2019. Please encourage your students to participate in these events that help them explore career options, find a job or internship, and make important networking contacts with Gonzaga alumni, parents and friends. 

In an effort to give our students a competitive edge in the job market, we have organized the Portland and Seattle Treks during the semester break. Among the events planned are excursions to local organizations, career fairs exclusively for Gonzaga students and networking socials where students will meet alumni, parents and friends for the purpose of exploring career options and expanding their professional network. In addition to the potential employment opportunities available through networking, these contacts can help students become a more effective job candidate by coaching them on how to effectively market themselves.

Gonzaga University Portland Trek 2019

When: Tuesday, January 8, 2019
Where: Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 SW Salmon St, Portland, OR 97205 & Nike Headquarters, One Bowerman Dr, Beaverton, OR 97005

The day includes:

  • Career Fair exclusively for Gonzaga students with representatives from over 30 top employers in the Portland area who are looking for strong candidates for internship and full-time opportunities
  • Lunch with Career Fair Employers where students will have the opportunity to continue conversations and network further with the employers
  • Corporate Excursions to organizations including Nike, Keene Footwear, Adpearance, Craft Brew Alliance, Intel, HP and More!
  • Alumni Networking Social where alumni, employers and friends of the University will gather to share valuable insights, recommendations and contacts with the students over dinner and a program at NIKE’s World Headquarters

Gonzaga University Seattle Trek 2019

When: Thursday, January 10, 2019
Where: The Renaissance Hotel, 515 Madison Street, Seattle, WA 98104 

The day includes:

  • Career Fair exclusively for Gonzaga students with representatives from over 50 top employers in the Puget Sound area who are looking for strong candidates for internship and full-time opportunities
  • Lunch with Career Fair Employers where students will have the opportunity to continue conversations and network further with the employers
  • Corporate Excursions to organizations including Amazon, Boeing, Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, West Monroe Partners, Starbucks, Liberty Mutual, T-Mobile, and a Healthcare focused excursion
  • Alumni Networking Social where alumni, employers and friends of the University will gather to share valuable insights, recommendations and contacts with the students over dinner and a program

Students can register for the Portland and Seattle Treks on Handshake.

We recommend the Treks for all students regardless of class year or major. For underclassmen, the opportunity to get an inside look at organizations through the Excursions can help them as they decide on majors, career field or what kind of culture they are looking for in an employer. We have a wide employers represented in each Trek, as well as alumni representatives from most industries who come out to support the students.
