Anni Foster, Gonzaga Law Class of 2004, Joins Arizona Governor’s Office

September 15, 2017

Anni Foster, who currently serves as Chief of Staff and General Counsel at the Arizona Department of Public Safety, will join the Governor’s Office in September as the new Deputy General Counsel. Foster graduated from Gonzaga Law in 2004 and became a dedicated public servant in Arizona. She is also a dedicated Zags Fan and was thrilled to share the “Gonzaga Mentality” and “Zag Up” when the men’s basketball team made the NCAA Finals for the first time.

Prior to her position as Chief of Staff and General Counsel at the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Foster served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office for more than seven years, where she advised and represented state agencies on various issues from procurement to public records and also prosecuted child support cases. The day after Muhammad Ali’s death, Foster shared one of Ali’s quotes that seems to underpin her personal and professional credos: “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”
