Gonzaga Alumna Kathryn Leathers Appointed General Counsel by Gov. Jay Inslee
Governor of Washington State Jay Inslee has appointed Kathryn Leathers (J.D. cum laude, ’93) as his General Counsel and she begins her tenure on September 16, 2017. “Kathryn brings decades of experience to this position, and I look forward to having her advice, perspective, and counsel on our team,’ Inslee said. “She has an impressive legal mind and shares my passion for justice and defending the values we share as Washingtonians.”
Before her appointment, Leathers brings 20 years of legal experience in both private practice and public services. Most recently, she has served as Senior Counsel for the House Democratic Caucus at the Washington State House of Representatives, and Legislative Liaison for the Washington State Bar Association. Her appointment continues the Gonzaga Law legacy of leadership.
