Choir Director Timothy Westerhaus Selected for Conductor Exchange in South Korea
SPOKANE, Wash. – The American Choral Directors Association’s International Conductors Exchange Program has selected Timothy Westerhaus, Gonzaga University’s director of choirs and vocal studies, as a 2016 Conducting Fellow. Westerhaus will represent the United States as a presenter and conductor in South Korea for two weeks in August of 2016.
Westerhaus is one of seven U.S. conductors who will present and conduct in South Korea. Fourteen South Korean conductors will present and conduct in the United States. The program was initiated in 2010 after a successful exchange with Cuba, and has since provided choral leaders with the opportunity to create meaningful collaborations with peers worldwide.
The exchanges exemplify an effort to introduce a network of ideas, cultures, and music between choral leaders worldwide.
