How the Fishing Derby Works
The derby begins at 5 a.m. — and all lines must be out of the water by 6 p.m.
Anglers will compete for the largest halibut or overall largest fish. The winner takes home the trophy — and earns a spot in derby history.
To qualify, your fish must be on the boat by 6 p.m. Be sure to provide proof via photo at the condo, or send it by text or email so we can verify the winner RSVP to receive full event details.
About the Post-Derby BBQ
Our host will generously provide a post-event barbecue for all guests and participants. Dinner is provided — bring your own beverage. Please RSVP to attend.
Boats and Accommodations
Participants are responsible for booking a charter or bringing their own boat, as well as arranging accommodations in Homer. Some guests team up to fish together — it’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow Zags out on the water. Please book both your boat and lodging as soon as possible. This is a popular weekend in Homer, and availability goes quickly.
