About This Event
Structural Engineer Byrl Williams discusses the field's response to environmental and sustainability concerns. He includes a brief history of deep foundation practices for support of a variety of structures in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1960s and the evolution of engineering and environmental changes required to address these needs and concerns.
About the Speaker:
M Byrl Williams, PE is a registered professional engineer in California and a member of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and California Structural Engineers (CSE). After earning his BS of Civil Engineering from Gonzaga and master’s in construction engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, he embarked on a long career in structural engineering. He is President of the Deep Foundation Institute, an international organization dedicated to research and education in the foundation industry.
