About This Event
The concert tells the story of the passing of the 19th Amendment with music, cartoons, and rousing speeches of the suffrage movement. In a playful reenactment, antagonists will sing historical anti-suffrage music but quickly join the cause of the suffragists.
We also celebrate modern choral activism with composer in residence, Melissa Dunphy. Originally from Australia, Dunphy’s music has been featured from the Wall Street Journal to Comedy Central. She’ll take us through a journey of modern musical activism with a pre-concert conversation at 6:30 pm.
