About This Event
We are excited to be joined by Kathleen Leary on Wednesday, October 14th at 12 - 12:50pm PDT for our Theatre & Dance Colloquium Guest Speaker Series! Members of the Gonzaga Community who are interested in attending this virtual discussion can register with Charles Pepiton at: pepiton@gonzaga.edu
Kathleen Leary is the Dance Education Coordinator at the Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. She is embarking on a second career as an informal educator after her successful first as a costume designer for theater and film. Her professional passions include educational equity and accessibility. She loves creating dynamic tours, interactive games, and thoughtful discussions so that audiences share in her excitement for dance history. When she is not empowering students through an arts-based curriculum, she loves working with textiles, reading biographies, and exploring historic homes.
Kathleen will deliver a presentation on how to access materials remotely at the Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. For many years, collections access was relegated to the in-person visitor. Because of our new environment, we are broadening our ability for patrons to request special collections items through electronic scan, borrow reference books, and view moving image material. The Jerome Robbins Dance Division is truly becoming an institution of the 21st century, while conserving and protecting the materials and rights of dancers and their legacy.
Please email Charles Pepiton at: pepiton@gonzaga.edu to receive a link to the Zoom discussion.
