About This Event
Dr. Kathleen Jeffs's doctoral research took place within the context of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Spanish Golden Age Season in 2004-05, for which she served as rehearsal dramaturg. In her recent book, Staging the Spanish Golden Age: Translation and Performance, Jeffs draws on first-hand experience of the RSC’s rehearsals to put forth a collaborative model for translating, rehearsing, and performing Spanish Golden Age drama. In this talk, Jeffs will show the transferability of these ideas to broader fields and discuss why collaboration between academics and practitioners is an essential component of innovation.
The College of Arts & Sciences presents two Dean's Research & Creative Activity Forums each semester, inviting faculty who have published books, built collaborations, or made notable advancements in their fields to share details of their work with colleagues, students, and members of the community.
