About This Event
Please come join our annual UWSOM-GU Regional Health Partnership student poster session. Second-year UWSOM medical students who spent the summer in rural communities conducting needs assessment and formulating patient and community centered health interventions, as well as students who spent the summer conducting empirical research related to medicine will present the results of their work in this interactive and engaging poster session. Visit with students who been active at Gonzaga for the past 14 months and explore, “Improving Understanding of the Burden of Traumatic Injuries Through Trauma Registries in Lima, Peru,” “Community-based Strategies to Reduce Diabetes Incidence through Educational Gardening in Grand Coulee, WA” and much more.
Gonzaga undergraduate students will also present posters reporting their research experiences in UW labs this past summer. Learn more about these hands-on experiences in the UW Diabetes Institute, Genome Science Lab, Rheumatology Lab, Neurology Lab, and the International Training & Education Center for Health in the Department of Global Health, and ask about how you might participate in the future.
Additionally, posters from undergraduate research experiences at GU and Gonzaga’s Nurse Anesthesia students will also be displayed. We are excited to see our event grow to include the breadth of health programs.
This event will highlight the health-related research that is a growing part of our campus.
