The application for this program opens Summer of 2025 for a Fall 2026 Start.
Eligibility
One of the following from a regionally accredited institution:
- Bachelor of Science in computer science or computer engineering or
- Bachelor of Science in web development, information technology or math or
- Bachelor’s degree with a minor in computer science, math, physics or other similar discipline and relevant work experience.
If you do not have a BS in computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering, you will need to have taken courses in programming, computer organization and operating systems.

Official Transcripts
Submit one official transcript from each college or university attended. You must submit transcripts from any school listed on your application, even if you only took one class.
- If your cumulative GPA falls below a 3.0 please include an explanation of GPA statement.
- If you previously attended Gonzaga or are a current student, GU transcripts are ordered by the program on your behalf.

Letters of Recommendation
Submit the names and contact information of two professional recommenders through the online application. Your recommenders will be contacted directly via email with directions for submitting letters of recommendation on your behalf. Make sure your recommenders can evaluate you on the following:
- Computer science, web development and other computer related skills
- Programming knowledge
- Critical thinking
- Ability to complete a graduate degree
You should choose professional references from among supervisors, instructors and colleagues you have worked with in the last five years. When possible, we encourage you to include one academic letter of recommendation from a previous professor.
Recommendations from family members are not accepted.

Statement of Purpose
Submit a 1–2-page statement of purpose outlining why you should be admitted to the M.S. in Cybersecurity. Include the following key points:
- Your employment experience and/or undergraduate experience.
- What you hope to accomplish with this degree.
Military-Connected Students and Veterans
- Currently, all active-duty military members must have permission/approval from an Education Services Officer (ESO), Military Counselor, or the Military Service prior to applying.
