Lars Stoltzfus, Ph.D.

Lars Stoltzfus (they/them/theirs) is a lecturer in Communication Studies at Gonzaga University. They are interested in how power and mediated experiences impact and are impacted by identity formation. Lars’ most recent work is on queer and/or transgender former Amish, Mennonite, and Brethren individuals navigating cultures, communication, and media. Lars has also written on transgender exclusion in the Women’s March movement, Super Bowl advertising, and growing up at queer and trans at the interstices of Amish, Mennonite, and Southern white cultures.
