I teach classes in rhetoric and writing studies with an emphasis on first-year writing, writing for social action, digital media/multimodal composing and rhetorics, and professional and technical writing. My research interests focus on rhetorical theories of group identification and recognition, asking how folks positioned at the margins come to be recognized as a part of a bigger whole. I am also a first-generation college student, so I am particularly interested in these students' experiences at Gonzaga and elsewhere.
