Degree: B.A. in Public Relations
The Public Relations major will:
- Apply contemporary communication theories to strategically communicate with internal and external audiences, both orally and in writing.
- Apply personal and professional ethical principles in public relations, demonstrated by being able to evaluate situations and make informed ethical decisions.
- Design and conduct research projects for clients using qualitative and quantitative methods, considering ethical issues like informed consent and privacy, and communicate findings effectively in written reports and oral presentations.
- Create written content based on communication theories to convey key messages persuasively to target audiences through various media, considering ethical implications and audience reactions.
- Integrate classroom knowledge with practical experience in a professional setting through internships and client campaigns, using learned skills to solve problems, analyze data, and make informed decisions in a capstone project.
