Lars Stoltzfus-Brown, Ph.D.

Lars Stoltzfus (they/them) operates at the intersections of health communication, mass communications, and trans studies in religion; the central question of their work is "what are the ethics of communicating about–and with–vulnerable populations, regardless of medium?"

Their current projects are on the cultural translation of ethnoreligiosity in film; Christian nationalist influencers and gendered hate; and the ethical responsibilities of geneticists to communicate health recommendations within genetic isolate groups.

Lars' research has been published in the International Journal of Communication, Journal of Amish and Plain Anabaptist Studies, Journal of Clinical Oncology Practice, and Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion.
