Search Committee Letter to Community

May 24, 2024

Dear Members of the Gonzaga University Community,

In April, we announced the retirement of our current President, Thayne McCulloh. Since that date, we have gathered hundreds of stakeholders for listening sessions, both online and in person. On behalf of The Search Committee, thank you to all who have participated; the care and respect for our community, among those who consider themselves part of it, is evident and strong. We are pleased by the turnout and our conversations regarding the attractions of this leadership role, the priorities, and the desired qualities for the next president.

We are now seeking input from the broader community through a brief multiple-choice survey with an option for comments. This survey is crucial as it will help us understand your expectations and aspirations for the next president of Gonzaga University. You will find the survey here.

Rest assured, the survey is completely anonymous and can be completed in a few minutes. We encourage you to respond by June 4 to ensure your voice is heard. The Presidential Search Committee will use the results to inform the construction of the position specification, which is both a marketing document for prospective candidates and a touchstone to which the Committee will return as we make decisions throughout the search.

I appreciate your confidence in the Committee and support as we undertake this important work

With deepest gratitude,
